Enjoy this homemade citrus collagen hummus recipe, which not only has a refreshing and zesty flavor but also offers the benefits of collagen!

Ingredients

1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3 tablespoons tahini
2 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1 lemon
Zest of 1 lemon
Juice of 1 orange
Zest of 1 orange
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 scoops Kalla collagen powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, orange juice, and orange zest.
  2. Start the food processor and slowly drizzle in the olive oil while it runs. Continue processing until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. You may need to scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl with a spatula to ensure all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Add the ground cumin and Kalla collagen powder to the hummus mixture.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Process again for about 30 seconds to blend in the collagen powder and seasonings. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  6. If the hummus is too thick, you can add a little water (1-2 tablespoons at a time) and process until you reach your desired consistency.
  7. Once the citrus collagen hummus is smooth and well-seasoned, transfer it to a serving bowl.
  8. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of fresh parsley, and additional lemon or orange zest if desired.
  9. Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or your favorite crackers.
